The Foix Delta is located in Cubelles, Barcelona province. In its final stretch the Foix river runs through a heavily urbanized area. During spring and autumn, the river mouth is a good place to observe passerine migratory bird species like Golondrina Dáurica , Curruca Carrasqueña , Papamoscas Cerrojillo , Carricero Común , Alcaudón Común , and also shorebirds like Andarríos Grande , Archibebe Común , Archibebe Claro , or Chorlitejo Grande. Chorlitejo patinegro is one of the most iconic species. Other interesting species that occur are Garcilla Cangrejera , Garza Imperial , and Rascón Europeo.
The following species are present all year round: Cistícola Buitrón , Cetia Ruiseñor , and Curruca Cabecinegra. Seabirds can also be observed resting or bathing in the lagoon, notably Gaviota Cabecinegra , Charrán Patinegro , and Gaviota de Audouin. At sea, notable species can be observed such as Pardela Balear , Pardela Mediterránea , Pardela cenicienta , and Alcatraz Atlántico.

The Foix Delta is located in the town of Cubelles, about 50 km west of Barcelona. The area can be reached by car, and it is easy to park in the Municipal Sports Centre. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Public transport: Getting there by train is easy. The train station of Cubelles (1) is on walking distance (500m) of the Foix Delta. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 1,5 km.
