Descripción
Parc Mon Repos is a tranquil park located along the shores of Lake Geneva, featuring manicured gardens, woodland areas, and a scenic lakeside promenade. The park’s mix of habitats provides an ideal environment for a variety of bird species.
In spring and summer, you can spot Ánade azulón, Cisne Vulgar, and Somormujo Lavanco swimming in the lake, while the surrounding trees and shrubs are home to Mosquitero Común, Herrerillo Común, Paloma Zurita, and Mirlo Común. Migratory swallows can often be seen flying overhead.
During autumn and winter, the shore attracts Focha Común, Porrón Moñudo, and Zampullín Común. Rascón Europeo and Martín Pescador Común are occasionally seen along the lake’s edge.
Particularly during migration periods, you can occasionally see waders on the shore, such as Correlimos Común, Andarríos Chico or even Vuelvepiedras Común.
Gulls rest on the rocky outcrop in the water, in winter including Gaviota Cana and, in lower numbers, Gaviota sombría. On windless days, it is also worth bringing a scope and searching the lake area for rare winter visitors: Zampullín Cuellirrojo, Negrón común and Somormujo Cuellirrojo are reported quite regularly, and even Colimbo Grande and Pato Havelda have been spotted from the park.
The peaceful setting, combined with beautiful views of the lake and the Alps, makes Parc Mon Repos an ideal spot for birdwatching and enjoying nature.
