Descripción

Pak Thale is internationally recognized for its importance to migratory shorebirds, including the critically endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper. The area is dominated by salt pans and coastal mudflats, which provide crucial feeding and roosting habitats. The site covers about 50 hectares and regularly hosts thousands of water birds comprising around 50 different species during the northern hemisphere winter. The Spoon-billed Sandpiper is most consistently seen between late October and late March.
