Descripción
Alaçatı Wetland is a lagoon-like intertidal estuary covering approximately 250 acres, which is formed by a natural watercourse flowing north-south from the Kutlu Aktaş Dam to the Aegean Sea. The area abounds in halophiles marshes, dunes and shallow water channels, and a great variety of maquis or scrubland vegetation. The wetland provides feeding, shelter and breeding grounds for many bird species. Flamenco Común is seen throughout the year. In addition, bird species such as Tarro Canelo, Archibebe Claro, Archibebe Común, Chorlitejo patinegro, Correlimos Común, Combatiente, Correlimos Menudo, Gaviota Patiamarilla, Fumarel Cariblanco, Abejaruco Europeo, Golondrina Dáurica, Escribano Ceniciento, Cigüeñuela común, Cistícola Buitrón and Cigüeña Negra are some of the other species seen in the area.
