Lake Erçek is surrounded by mountains and hills. The patchy reedbeds and mudflats attracts many bird species. During the breeding season it is easy to see Malvasía Cabeciblanca and during the autumn Ánsar chico flocks are coming to the lake area. On the other side, there are many other species to see such as Tarro Canelo, Flamenco Común, Martinete Común, Ánsar común, Chotacabras Europeo, Grulla Común and Porrón Europeo.
