The estuary of the River Axe is full of coastal wading birds such as Aguja Colipinta, Ostrero Euroasiático, Garceta Común and Archibebe Común, a range of ducks including Cuchara Común, Silbón Europeo and Cerceta Común, and heathland birds like Mosquitero Común, Alondra Común and Cernícalo vulgar.
