Berney Marshes and Breydon Water attract thousands of waders and waterfowls in winter. Birds are usually distant in the mudflats when the tide is low. In summer Avoceta Común, Archibebe Común and Avefría Europea breed in the reserve.

Accesso
Berney Marshes Reserve: by foot (Weaver's way trail) or train (Berney Arms station) only. Strictly no car access. Breydon Water: by foot (a trail runs all around the estuary, Weaver's Way and Angle's way), train (Great Yarmouth station) or by car (stop at Burgh Castle or at Asda Great Yarmouth).
