Descripción
Approximately 20 years ago, to the south of Bishop Middleham village, a lake began to develop as a result of groundwater flooding. Now known locally as Castle Lake, this water body covers an area of 13 hectares and is a great place for birding. Nearly 200 species have been recorded in the area. Waders, wildfowl and birds of prey. Recent rarities are Falaropo Picofino, Tarro Canelo and Garceta Grande.
