Descripción
Colliford Lake is Cornwall's youngest reservoir being built in 1983 and biggest area of fresh water. There are car parks on it's Western shore and car pull ins on it's Eastern, the waymarked paths are also on it's Western shore, but due to it's high moor location most sides are approachable on foot over rough terrain. BE WARNED the North Eastern arm (Loveny Reserve) is a RESTRICTED BIRD RESERVE run by the Cornwall Birdwatching Preservation Society (cbwps.org.uk), the gate is locked and access is for MEMBERS ONLY. Very close by is Dozmary Pool, once the largest freshwater lake in the area, now dwarfed by it's younger cousin.
