Descripción
Drumpellier Country Park offers a diverse mix of habitats, including woodlands, wetlands, open water, and grasslands, making it a fantastic birdwatching spot year-round. The park’s lochs and marshes attract Cisne Vulgar, Zampullín Común, Focha Común and Porrón Moñudo, while reedbeds provide a home for Carricerín Común and Escribano Palustre in spring and summer. Somormujo Lavanco can often be seen performing their courtship displays.
Woodlands around the park are alive with Pico Picapinos, Agateador Euroasiático, and Mito Común. In winter, flocks of Zorzal Alirrojo and Zorzal Real arrive, while the occasional Busardo ratonero or Gavilán Común can be spotted overhead.
With scenic trails and a variety of bird species, Drumpellier is a perfect spot for both beginners and experienced birdwatchers.

Drumpellier Country Park is located in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, just off the A752, making it easily accessible by car, bike, and public transport. Free parking is available at the main visitor centre off Townhead Road. Additional parking is available near Lochend Loch. Press P on the map for directions. Public Transport: Blairhill Train Station (marked with 1 on the map) is about a 15-minute walk from the park, with frequent trains from Glasgow. Local buses also stop nearby.
The park is best explored on foot or by bike, with well-maintained paths around the lochs and through woodlands. A visit can last from an hour to a full day, depending on how much of the park you want to explore. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 3 km.
