Descripción
Durlston is an excellent place to go birdwatching at any time of the year. The cliffs are home to the largest breeding colony of Arao Común in Southern England. Alca Común also breed but in smaller numbers. Passing seabirds such as Alcatraz Atlántico and Gaviota Tridáctila can be seen at any time, but particularly during windy weather. Halcón Peregrino and Cuervo Grande patrol the cliffs. During autumn, 'visible migration' can be spectacular with thousands of finches and pipits passing overhead just after dawn. The woodland areas provide habitat for Busardo ratonero, Gavilán Común, Trepador Azul and Agateador Euroasiático; in autumn, passage species in the woodland can include Mosquitero Bilistado and Reyezuelo Listado. In spring and early summer, the scrub areas are alive with migrant warblers including Curruca Zarcerilla. Migrating raptors such as Milano Real, Águila Pescadora, Alcotán Europeo and Esmerejón pass through the Park.
