Descripción
Fairlop Waters is the largest country park in Redbridge and has a wide diversity of habitats like grassland, woodland, ponds, and lakes. The large boating lake has Barnacla canadiense grande, Focha Común and Avefría Europea. A nesting habitat has been created on the main island for birds. Around the smaller fishing lake Somormujo Lavanco, Cisne Vulgar and sometimes Andarríos Chico can be observed.
The surrounding area is a mix of open scrub with some thick areas of shrubs and trees which attract Curruca Zarcera, Curruca Zarcerilla and Curruca Capirotada. To south of the main complex and golf course is a small fenced off nature reserve. Birds that you can spot in the area all year round include Pito Real, Alondra Común, Garza Real, Mochuelo Europeo, Escribano Palustre and Bisbita Pratense among others. Some winter visitors are Reyezuelo Sencillo, Porrón Europeo, Cuchara Común and Porrón Moñudo.
