Descripción
132 bird species have been recorded on the English side of the Mosses alone. Including Alcotán Europeo, Halcón Peregrino, Búho Campestre, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental, Aguilucho pálido, Garceta Grande, Garceta Común, Tarabilla común, Chocha Perdiz, Chotacabras Europeo and Escribano Triguero. Many species of dragonfly, damselfly and 32 butterfly species. Also adders, common lizards, water voles and otters. There is a bird hide and a viewing tower. Good for dragonflies and Alcotán Europeo in May.

The Mosses are almost midway between Shrewsbury and Wrexham. From the A49 road, go west in Prees and follow signs to Whixham marina. Parking available on the English side next to the canal, see P on map below. Nearest bus stop 3 miles away, nearest train station at Prees, 4 miles. Access by boat or kayak or canoe along the canal. Wheelchair access.
