Gillies Hill Hillfort is an Iron Age hillfort situated on a hill overlooking the River Forth. Gillies Hill covers a 140 hectares crag and tail which rises from a height of 79 metres to an elevation of 162 metres. The hillfort has large stone walls and ramparts and is surrounded by green fields, forest and rolling hills. Gillies Hill is home to a variety of wildlife, including red deer, badgers, hares, rabbits and foxes. Many species of small birds such as Petirrojo Europeo, Acentor Común, Verderón Común, Jilguero Lúgano, Chocha Perdiz and tits reside in the woodlands. Other birds that can be observed in the area, include Cuervo Grande, Pico Picapinos, Busardo ratonero, Cernícalo vulgar and Halcón Peregrino.

Gillies Hill is located southwest of the town of Stirling. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. There are many trails to explore the area. On the map you see a suggestion for a circular walk of 8 km, but it is just a suggestion and it is easy to make longer or shorter walks.
