The area comprises of a large area of heathland with both deciduous and conifer woodland.
(*1), from around the car park area scan for overflying Busardo ratonero, Cernícalo vulgar, Gavilán Común and Milano Real. During the Summer Abejero Europeo are sometimes seen. More open areas have can have Paloma Zurita, Zorzal Charlo, Pito Real, Bisbita Pratense, Alondra Común and Alondra Totovía. Gorse (Ulex) patches have Curruca Rabilarga and Tarabilla común.
(*2), Broadleaved woodland here hold Picogordo Común, Pico Menor, Trepador Azul, Agateador Euroasiático. In Summer Tórtola Europea, Papamoscas Gris, Colirrojo Real, Mosquitero Común, Curruca Capirotada and Cuco Común can all be expected. Birch (Betula) trees can attract Tarabilla Norteña, Mosquitero Silbador, Curruca Mosquitera, Mosquitero Musical, Curruca Zarcerilla, Pardillo Común, Camachuelo Común and Mito Común.
(*3), Court Copse area, scattered scrub here on the North edge of the copse, have 'roding' Chocha Perdiz and 'churring" Chotacabras Europeo in the evenings. More open areas have Bisbita Pratense and Alondra Común, scattered trees can have Alondra Totovía and Bisbita Arbóreo.
Be sure to check any scrubland for Escribano Cerillo, Tarabilla común, Pardillo Común, Curruca Zarcera and Curruca Zarcerilla. Conifers around the site can have Reyezuelo Sencillo, Reyezuelo Listado, Carbonero Garrapinos, Jilguero Lúgano and the occasional Piquitureto Común.

Leave the M27 motorway at junction 2, on roundabout take exit signed Salisbury/Romsey/Fawley/A36, at next roundabout take second exit signed Salisbury/Plaitford/Wellow/A36. Continue on this road turning Left at sign for Bradshaw, pass over cattle grid onto Black Hill Road. Continue on this road and large car park (free) is on the Left.
