Descripción
Hobson's Park is a relatively new park creating a green corridor that runs along Hobson Brook. The park includes some rough scrub, grasslands, a small lake with island and a couple of reeded ponds. Young trees and bushes and allotments and a small amount of reeds. A small viewing screen around the lake but with trees growing in front. Best to walk around to view the lake allowing views of the whole lake.
Escribano Triguero, Curruca Zarcerilla and Escribano Cerillo breed with good numbers of Alondra Común. Winter is good for Porrón Europeo and winter thrushes. The reserve is best on passage where Collalba Gris are regular in spring. Recent rarities have included Torcecuello Euroasiático, Cigüeña Blanca, Cerceta Carretona, Charrán ártico and Búho Campestre.

Accesso
Hobson's Park is located on the southern outskirts of Cambridge. Access by walking or cycling from Cambridge or Trumpington. The A and U buses stop a 5 minute walk away on the Biomedical Campus. Driving not ideal but one could park in the hospital car park or in Trumpington and walk. Best explored on foot but one can cycle through the park. Allow an hour or so to explore properly, more time would mean a more thorough look and more birds!
