Descripción
Loch Gruinart is one of the best places in Scotland to see Chova Piquirroja (northernmost nesting site), Guión de Codornices (a few) and wintering geese (up to 50,000, mostly Barnacla Carinegra, Barnacla Cariblanca, Ánsar común and Ánsar piquicorto, plus Cisne Cantor). The RSPB reserve has a hide, a visitor centre and Natural history centre. Birds here include Pigargo Europeo, Águila Real, Esmerejón, Aguilucho pálido, Rascón Europeo, Polluela Pintoja, 16 regular wader species, 3 tern species, 3 diver species, Búho Campestre, Pardillo Piquigualdo and Bisbita Costero.
At the sea end of the loch, Ardnare Point is a good seawatch location for viewing Alcatraz Atlántico, divers, shearwaters, skuas, auks and sea ducks such as Pato Havelda, Negrón común and Serreta Mediana. Best place also for Chova Piquirroja. Ardnare loch is favoured by wintering dabbling ducks - Cerceta Común, Silbón Europeo, Ánade friso and Cuchara Común.
