Leave Plymouth on the A386 signposted Tavistock, on leaving the suburb of Roberough look for a left turn marked Maristow and Lopwell Dam, on minor roads this eventually takes you to the dam. The Tavy Estuary heads roughly South West from here, with a road (eventually narrowing) that takes you to Blaxton Woods and Blaxton Creek.
