Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (Papamoscas Cerrojillo Colirrojo Real), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as Gallo lira común, Andarríos Chico and Mirlo-acuático Europeo. Among the other birds you can encounter are Mirlo Capiblanco, Lavandera Cascadeña, Jilguero Lúgano and Alondra Común.
