The Moor Green Lakes Nature Reserve occupies 36 hectares north of the River Blackwater. A footpath runs along much of the River Blackwater and provides reasonable, but sometimes distant, views of the lakes. There are 2 hides on the reserve providing good views of the lakes. Resident birds are Zampullín Común, Somormujo Lavanco, Garceta Común, Gavilán Común, Avefría Europea, Mochuelo Europeo, Martín Pescador Común, Escribano Palustre, Camachuelo Común and Milano Real. Summer visitors are Chorlitejo Chico, Gaviota Reidora, Charrán Común and Alcotán Europeo. In winter you can expect Serreta Grande, Porrón Osculado, Serreta Chica, Lavandera Cascadeña and sometimes Búho Campestre. During migration birds like Cerceta Carretona, Águila Pescadora, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental and Archibebe Claro can sometimes be spotted.

At the western end, there is a small car park off Lower Sandhurst Road (SU 805 628), and at the eastern end, the Activity Centre car-park off Mill Lane (SU 821 620).
