Descripción
The Solway Firth is an extensive and remote area of saltmarsh, mudflats, sandy coast, dunes and reedbeds attracting a wide range of wetland birds. Breeding and passage waders include Archibebe Común, Vuelvepiedras Común, Ostrero Euroasiático and Zarapito Real. Winter wildfowl and seabirds include Cuchara Común, Cerceta Común, Cisne Cantor, Ánsar piquicorto, Barnacla Cariblanca, Porrón Osculado, Éider común, and divers, grebes, and auks. Also look out for Garceta Común, Martín Pescador Común, Alondra Común, Tarabilla común and Bisbita Pratense. Otters are possible, plus seals, porpoise and dolphin offshore. At Grune Point the receding sea leaves tidal lagoons ideal for rockpooling.
