Descripción
A large and attractive lake in the Colne Valley with nationally important numbers of wintering birds. Stocker’s Lake is 40 hectares and one of the oldest gravel pits in the area. Over 60 species of breeding birds have been recorded here and the heronry is one of the largest in the UK.
Spring: Mosquitero Común, Cetia Ruiseñor, Garza Real, Garceta Común, Golondrina Común, Pato Colorado. Summer: Charrán Común Autumn: Somormujo Lavanco, Águila Pescadora. Winter: Porrón Osculado, Serreta Chica, Martín Pescador Común, Cuchara Común, Jilguero Lúgano, Pardillo Norteño, Silbón Europeo.
