Descripción
Tehidy Woods is a popular public woodland area. It has numerous footpaths and walkways through the trees and around the shallow lake and ponds. A stream runs through the valley and footpaths can be taken out of the woods along the North Cliffs of Cornwall.
The woods are easier to watch during the winter months and there is a feeding area in the Rose Garden where you can sit and see woodland species visiting the feeders. These birds include Pico Picapinos, Arrendajo Euroasiático, Trepador Azul, Herrerillo Común, Carbonero Garrapinos, Carbonero Común and Mito Común. Other birds here include Pito Real, Jilguero Lúgano, Pinzón Vulgar, Jilguero Europeo, Petirrojo Europeo, Acentor Común, Reyezuelo Sencillo, Reyezuelo Listado and Zorzal Alirrojo in winter.
The ponds are shallow and do not hold many birds but you will find Cisne Vulgar, Zampullín Común, Porrón Moñudo, Ánade azulón, Gallineta Común, Gaviota argéntea europea and Gaviota Reidora here. There is currently a pair of Pato Mandarín in residence and Martín Pescador Común can often been seen.
In summer Mosquitero Común and Curruca Capirotada can be seen and heard but there is a very large and noisy Rookery here too which can be distracting! Agateador Euroasiático are scarce but recorded occasionally at the west end of the woods. Very occasionally the woods can attract migrants and the odd scarcity like Mosquitero Bilistado, Papamoscas Cerrojillo, Papamoscas Gris and once a Mosquitero de Hume.

Accesso
Tehidy Woods are located along the north Cornwall coast, north of the town of Camborne. There are two main car parks, one at the north along the B3301 and another at the south from Mountwhistle Road. Click on the P in the map for directions. There is a cafe with toilet facilities at the south car park.
From the south car park, the path off to the left is best as it is a designated Nature Area with no access to dogwalkers. This takes you past the lakes and through the woods. It is then a circular walk up to the Rose Garden if you want to visit the feeders. The walking route shown on the map is about 1,8 mile (3 km).

BEWARE OF THE SQUIRRELS AND RATS! The woods are a very popular place with the general public and families with small children. They feed the Squirrels, which in turn attracts rats. Best to avoid at weekends if at all possible, parking can be an issue.
