Around the Fish Quay in North Shields gulls hang around, especially on the roof. Often joined in winter by Gaviota Groenlandesa and Gavión Hiperbóreo.

Parking at west end of wharf, 100m from dock. It is a 15 minutes' walk from North Shields and Tynemouth Metro (light rail) stations.

Worth also walking 1km east (downstream) along the river and viewing Black Midden Rocks at low tide, where gulls gather to roost.
Note that the Fish Quay is a working harbour; be careful not to interrupt or get in the way of people working there. Birders are welcome, with the acceptance of this, and for being 'extra eyes' for the harbour security: if you see any suspicious or improper activity, please report it to the security office immediately.
