The cliffs themselves and the surrounding chalk grasslands make a unique habitat found in few other places, while the proximity to the continent makes it a popular resting spot for rarities from across the channel. Nesting birds can include Halcón Peregrino, Cuervo Grande, Fulmar Boreal and even Gaviota Tridáctila. Divers and auks can be seen off the coast in winter, and it is not unusual for rarities to appear: Torcecuello Euroasiático, Mosquitero de Pallas, Mirlo Capiblanco and the occasional shrike.
