Descripción
ECUA Bayou Marcus Wetlands has a boardwalk that offers visitors an opportunity to walk through an authentic Northwest Florida wetland ecosystem. The boardwalk provides spectacular views, and an up-close opportunity to see wildlife that’s indigenous to the area. From the parking lot you walk about 300 yards (275 m) to start of the 8,000 feet (2,5 km) of boardwalk. It is not a loop, so it’s recommended only to go as far as you are willing to walk back. The large pond on the left hosts wintering Hooded Merganser, Bufflehead and Common Goldeneye. Swamp, Song and White-throated Sparrows exploit the weedy edges and Brown-headed Nuthatches and Pine Warblers call from the adjacent pinewoods. Other birds you can observe include Little Blue Heron, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Northern Cardinal and Carolina Chickadee.
