Description
Gaishorner See is an alpine lake located in the Paltental valley at an elevation of approximately 856 meters above sea level. The lake has reed-fringed shores and open water, and attracts typical wetland birds like harmaahaikara, merimetso, Lapasorsa, nokikana, pajusirkku and pikku-uikku. In spring and autumn, migratory bird species pass through. There’s an observation platform by the lake and a lakeside trail with information boards. In summer, the lake transforms into a recreational hub and this is therefore not the best time for a birding visit.
