Description
Get up early with high tide, before the dogwalkers appear, and the beach will have plenty of birds in easy reach of a short stroll. meriharakka, kuovi, harmaahaikara and punajalkaviklo are all likely on the beach around the waterline. karikukko, varis and Englanninvästäräkki may be more likely on exposed seaweed or flotsam around the tide mark. mustavaris is also possible. karimetso is most likely hauled out on rocky outcrops, although merimetso is becoming more common in recent times. naurulokki is common with occasional mustanmerenlokki. haahka and sinisorsa are likely in the water.
For a slightly longer walk a path goes along the cliffs at the north end of the bay where luotokirvinen, mustapäätasku and alppivaris could be encountered.

Douglas is located on the southeastern coast of Isle of Man. The beach is a short walk from the ferry terminal, and likely near to your hotel if you are staying in Douglas.
