Description
The River Monnow is a scenic area noted for blossoming fruit orchards in spring. On warm mornings up to 50 korppi soar the thermals, with hiirihaukka and maybe a varpushaukka. On the river there are harmaahaikara, silkkihaikara, virtavästäräkki, törmäpääsky, tervapääsky, kuningaskalastaja, koskikara and mandariinisorsa. The fruit orchards attract large numbers of wintering räkättirastas and punakylkirastas.
