Description

The Usk Valley Walk runs through the town, the river has flowering water crowfoot, Himalayan balsam, bats, kuningaskalastaja, koskikara, isokoskelo, pikku-uikku, silkkihaikara, harmaahaikara, virtavästäräkki, pajusirkku, merimetso, otters and more. The Rural Life Museum is excellent. Bats roost in the railway tunnel. At Llanbadoc church are a picnic site, play area, and plaque to Alfred Russell Wallace, discoverer of evolution.

Access

Usk is two miles west of the A449 Monmouth/Newport trunk road. Bus 36 from Monmouth or Newport stops at Usk and Llanbadoc. Pontypool train station is 9 miles away.
