Description
Valley Wetlands RSPB Reserve has kaulushaikara that can be heard booming and occasionally flying over the reedbeds. There is a törmäpääsky colony on the river Crigyll, plus pajusirkku, rytikerttunen, ruokokerttunen, pensassirkkalintu, mustapäätasku and kiuru. In winter Lapasorsa, haapana, tavi and jouhisorsa. Best to visit before 8.30 am as the jets from the aerodrome are noisy later on. There are otters, dragonflies and pyramid orchids.

Valley Wetlands has a car park on site. The reserve is in the NW corner of Anglesey and accessible by bus or car, see link below. There is also a train station at Rhosneigr.
