Description

Magee Marsh is famous among birders. This wetland of 2000 acres situated on the southern shore of Lake Erie is a magnet for migrating birds in spring. Especially in May when large songbird concentrations are preparing to migrate across the great lake toward their breeding grounds in the north. Due to the large number of birds that stop at the marsh during migration, Magee Marsh is a popular site for birdwatching, particularly on its Boardwalk Trail and the Magee Marsh Bird Trail. The best time to visit Magee is in the middle of May.
