Gásadalur village is known for Múlafossar, a magnificent waterfall that cascades from the cliffs into the sea. Above the village are beautiful bird cliffs.
The village of Gásadalur is famous for the Múlafossar waterfall, but is also a nice birding location. Both at the waterfall and at the bird cliffs on the north side of the village, you can experience the seabirds. The species that you can often see above the sea are Macareux moine, Labbe parasite and Grand Labbe. Also Fou de Bassan regularly fly by. Fulmar boréal is also easy to spot and beautiful to observe. On the water you can find Guillemot à miroir. They regularly take off, making them easy to observe.
Just before the village, next to the road, there is a colony of Sterne arctique. And when walking through the village, to the slightly higher bird cliffs, you can encounter species such as Pipit farlouse and Traquet motteux.
Gásadalur is located at the end of the main road across the island of Vágar. After a narrow tunnel, you'll see the village. At the first farm, you can park your car along the road for easy access to the waterfall. A little further on, below the village, there's a larger parking lot where you can also park your car. Press "P" on the map for directions to a parking spot. There's also a bus to Gásadalur. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 2 km.
