Description
Eagle Gorge is an easily accessible gorge from Dedoplistsqaro. Vautour fauve, Cigogne noire and Faucon pèlerin breed on the cliffs and can easily be seen from specific watchpoints along the routes. On warm days, Circaète Jean-le-Blanc and Aigle botté make regular appearances. In the forest down in the valley Loriot d'Europe and Pouillot du Caucase can be heard in spring and summer.
The cliff walls are home to Sittelle de Neumayer, Monticole bleu and Hirondelle de rochers. Near the parking lot Bruant mélanocéphale, Bruant ortolan and Fauvette épervière are heard singing or can be seen on migration. In autumn, Grue demoiselle are sometimes seen migrating past the highest tops. Further along the path there is a breeding facility for wild Faisan de Colchide , so a true wild bird of this species has to be encountered somewhere else.

Eagle Gorge is located 130 km east of Tblisi near Dedoplistskaro in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Dedoplistskaro is reachable by road from Tbilisi in about 2.5–3 hours. Parking can be done at the Eagle Gorge parking lot. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking it is a short (but straining) walk towards some watchpoints.
