Description

There are two lakes in the area, separated by a strip of land. The banks of the northern pond consist of gravel and sand, whilst the southern pond is surrounded by trees and has only very narrow or no large banks; however, there are a few areas of reeds. To the west of the ponds, renaturation work is still actively underway. In addition to the ponds, the area also features meadows, hedgerows, fields and a small wooded area.

Whilst around the southern pond one can mainly hear and see songbirds such as the Pouillot véloce, Mésange bleue, Mésange charbonnière, Rousserolle turdoïde, Rousserolle verderolle, Fauvette à tête noire, Fauvette babillarde, Fauvette grisette and Accenteur mouchet, the pond itself is often home to Grèbe castagneux, Grèbe huppé, Canard colvert and Oie cendrée. At the northern pond, you can mainly spot Fuligule morillon, Foulque macroule, Canard mandarin and Cygne tuberculé. On the patch of meadow between the ponds, you will frequently find Tarier pâtre, Bruant des roseaux and Locustelle tachetée. In the hedge by the road to the east of the ponds, you can find Pie-grièche écorcheur, Bruant jaune and Pic épeiche.
