Foce del Chienti is a connection between the Adriatic sea, the river floodplain and the cultivated land. That is why there is a big diversity of bird species. Aigrette garzette, Chevalier guignette, Tourterelle des bois, Cisticole des joncs and Goéland leucophée are very common here. But also rarer birds like Sterne caugek, Spatule blanche or Huîtrier pie can be observed.

The Foce del Chienti is located on the south side of the town of Civitanova Marche. Parking is possible close to the beach. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can only enter the river mouth area by foot The best way to get here is, to take the path next to the river. At the beach you have the best view over the whole area.
