The viewpoint of Gradina del Poggio in Monte Cònero Regional Park is a special place. Every year, at the arrival of spring, the same spectacle is repeated: the passage of thousands of birds of prey and other soaring birds on Mount Conero. The headland located within the park of the same name, is in fact one of the main landmarks for birds of prey that, from wintering areas, migrate to the European nesting territories. The Conero is considered the second most important migration site in Italy, after the Strait of Messina, for the spring migration of birds of prey.
The Park ranked among the top ten nationwide in Italy as a site for birdwatching. During the months of April and May you can sometimes observe more than 1000 raptors in a single day. You can see many Bondrée apivore, Circaète Jean-le-Blanc and Busard des roseaux, but also Faucon d'Éléonore, Faucon kobez, Faucon hobereau. Besides raptors also Grue cendrée, Cigogne noire and Cigogne blanche are sometimes seen here on passage.

Italiano: Il punto panoramico di Gradina del Poggio, nel Parco Regionale del Monte Conero, è un luogo speciale. Ogni anno, con l'arrivo della primavera, si ripete lo stesso spettacolo: il passaggio di migliaia di rapaci e altri uccelli veleggiatori sopra il Monte Conero. Questo promontorio, situato all'interno dell'omonimo parco, è infatti uno dei principali punti di riferimento per i rapaci che, dalle aree di svernamento, migrano verso i territori di nidificazione europei. Il Conero è considerato il secondo sito di migrazione più importante d'Italia per la migrazione primaverile dei rapaci, dopo lo Stretto di Messina.
Il Parco è stabilmente inserito nella top ten nazionale dei migliori siti per il birdwatching in Italia. Durante i mesi di aprile e maggio, è possibile ammirare a volte più di 1.000 rapaci in un solo giorno.

The Monte Cònero Regional Park is a protected area featuring 18 trails that wind through its woods. The park encompasses a stretch of high coastline and a vast hilly interior with sweeping panoramic views. Its eastern slopes overlooking the sea consist of limestone cliffs, while the rest of the territory is dominated by dense Mediterranean scrub and mixed woodlands.
