Punta Chiappa is located in the Portofino Natural Park. The waters are rich in food and attracting many seabird species. Especially thousands of Puffin yelkouan and Puffin de Scopoli. Other species that are regularly seen from this spot are Fou de Bassan, Mouette mélanocéphale, Cormoran huppé and Pingouin torda. In March, many waterbirds are seen migrating at sea. In winter, Tichodrome échelette and Monticole bleu can be seen on the cliffs and a flock of Sterne caugek is wintering between Punta Chiappa and Camogli. Along the hiking path from San Rocco, in spring Fauvette de Moltoni is breeding among the dense shrubs.

In particolare migliaia di Puffin yelkouan e Puffin de Scopoli. Altre specie che vengono regolarmente avvistate da questo punto sono la Fou de Bassan, il Mouette mélanocéphale, il Cormoran huppé e la Pingouin torda. A marzo, molti uccelli acquatici vengono avvistati in migrazione in mare. In inverno, il Tichodrome échelette e il Monticole bleu possono essere visti sulle scogliere e uno stormo di Sterne caugek sverna tra Punta Chiappa e Camogli. Lungo il sentiero escursionistico da San Rocco, in primavera la Fauvette de Moltoni si riproduce tra i fitti arbusti.

The watching site can only be reached by walking from San Rocco or by boat from Camogli. The trail from San Rocco is a stairs path, not that long but very steep. You can get to San Rocco by car and park there. Click on a P in the map for directions. Other option is by train to Camogli and then by bus. The 2,5 km hiking trail starts at the church of San Rocco, at 220 meters a.s.l., and from there it goes downhill getting at sea at Punta Chiappa in half an hour (and 1 hour to get back to the parking area). The path is marked with a symbol with two red squares.
The other option is to take the boat from the small harbour in Camogli, but it is important to check the sea conditions. If they change to bad the boat service may stop.

Italiano: Il sito di osservazione è raggiungibile solo a piedi da San Rocco o in barca da Camogli. Il sentiero da San Rocco è un sentiero a gradini, non molto lungo ma molto ripido. È possibile raggiungere San Rocco in auto e parcheggiare lì. Clicca su una P nella mappa per le indicazioni. Un'altra opzione è in treno fino a Camogli e poi in autobus. Il sentiero escursionistico di 2,5 km inizia dalla chiesa di San Rocco, a 220 metri s.l.m., e da lì scende fino a raggiungere il mare a Punta Chiappa in mezz'ora (e 1 ora per tornare al parcheggio). L'altra opzione è prendere il battello dal porticciolo di Camogli, ma è importante verificare le condizioni del mare. Se cambiano troppo, il servizio potrebbe interrompersi.
