The proximity to the Ulcinj salina and exit to the Adriatic sea makes the island Ada Bojana a great migration route for birds. Large flocks of Sarcelle d'été, Canard souchet, Canard siffleur, Mouette pygmée, Mouette mélanocéphale fly over the island on migration. It is wintering site for great numbers of Plongeon catmarin and Sterne caugek, but Plongeon arctique, Puffin de Scopoli and Macreuse brune too. During breeding season Ibis falcinelle and Spatule blanche feed in the marshes.
