Description
Sagres is the best place for watching autumn migration in Portugal, from August to October mainly. Seabirds can be observed, both in Cabo de São Vicente and on a boat (pelagic), birds of prey in Monte da Cabranosa and Vale Santo, passerines throughout the area but mainly in the pine forest of Cabranosa, Vale Santo, Cerâmica pine forest and Watchtower, and waders in the lagoon of Martinhal and Boca do Rio.
There are many specialties in the region, but, for example, Faucon d'Éléonore , Pluvier guignard and several passerines during migration, several Turdus sp., Pipit de Richard and Accenteur alpin in winter. The Fauvette à lunettes and Pipit rousseline in the summer. And year round residents like Crave à bec rouge , Grand-duc d'Europe , Faucon pèlerin and Monticole bleu. Over the years, more than 300 species of birds have been observed in this region alone, including several rarities.

O melhor local para observação de aves (no geral) durante a migração pós-nupcial em Portugal, de agosto a outubro principalmente. Pode observar-se aves marinhas, tanto no cabo de São Vicente como numa saída de barco (pelágica), rapinas no monte da Cabranosa e Vale Santo, passeriformes em toda a área mas principalmente no pinhal da Cabranosa, Vale Santo, pinhal da Cerâmica e Atalaia, e limícolas na lagoa do Martinhal e Boca do Rio.
As especialidade da região são várias, mas, por exemplo, o Faucon d'Éléonore , Pluvier guignard e diversos passeriformes durante a migração, vários Turdus sp., Pipit de Richard e Accenteur alpin no inverno, a Fauvette à lunettes e Pipit rousseline no verão, e por fim, a Crave à bec rouge , Grand-duc d'Europe , Faucon pèlerin e Monticole bleu residentes no local. Já foram observadas, ao longo dos anos, mais de 300 espécies de aves só nesta região, incluindo diversas raridades (aves que aparecem no nosso país acidentalmente, por diversos motivos).

Accès
Access is by car to the various spots in the area. Getting to Sagres is easy because it is well signposted, then, reaching the roundabout in front of the Sagres Fortress, take the 1st exit (west direction) if you want to visit Cabo de São Vicente, Vale Santo, the Cerâmica pine forest, the fort of Beliche and Cabranosa; take the 3rd exit (east direction) if you want to visit Ponta da Atalaia and the fishing port of Baleeira. All places are best explored on foot. The access to the hill and pine forest of Cabranosa (next to the Hedge) is dirt and has some stones, holes and roots, it is advisable to be careful if you go by car.

Português: O acesso é feito de carro aos vários spots da zona. Chegar a Sagres é fácil porque há diversas placas no caminho, depois, chegando à rotunda em frente à Fortaleza de Sagres, sair na 1ª saída (direção oeste) se quiser visitar o Cabo de São Vicente, o Vale Santo, o pinhal da Cerâmica, o forte do Beliche e a Cabranosa; sair na 3ª saída (direção este) se quiser visitar a ponta da Atalaia e o porto de pesca da Baleeira. Todos os locais são melhor explorados a pé. O acesso ao monte e pinhal da Cabranosa (ao lado da Sebe) é de terra batida e tem algumas pedras, buracos e raízes, aconselha-se cuidado se for de carro.
