Description
Salinas de Monte Algaida is located within the Doñana National Park and is relatively easy to access and very tranquil throughout the year. On the other side of the river Guadalquivir is the National Park and part of it is quite wild, with surrounding marshes and salt flats. During the autumn migration it is a stopping place for thousands of birds from all over Europe. A visit to the Algaida pine forests or continuation to Trebujena along the Practico Highway towards the coast of Trebujena is highly recommended after the visit. Among the birds you can see in the area are Flamant rose, many different waders, Sterne naine, Glaréole à collier, Combattant varié, Chevalier gambette, Cochevis huppé, Ibis falcinelle and Spatule blanche. Espagnol: Camino que transita el Parque Natural de Doñana, lindando con el Guadalquivir y rodeando salinas y marismas. Esta zona dentro del Parque Nacional de Doñana es de relativo fácil acceso y muy solitario durante todo el año. Al otro lado del Guadalquivir se encuentra el Parque Nacional y parte es bastante salvaje, rodeando marismas y salinas. Durante la migración de otoño es zona de parada para miles de aves provenientes de toda Europa. Una visita a los pinares de la Algaida o continuación hacia Trebujena por la Carretera del Práctico hacia la costa de Trebujena es ampliamente recomendado tras la visita. My favorite path starts from Sanlúcar crossing Bonanza towards La Algaida (neighborhood) and just upon reaching it, turn left onto Camino de las Marimas (google maps). Go around next to the river until Venta la Comuerta del Albur. From there, continue to the Pinares de la Algaida or continue along the river to the coast of Trebujena. I recommend a car, especially in summer, although it can be done on foot. Note: if it has rained it is easy to get stuck in the mud.

Espagnol: Mi camino favorito empieza desde Sanlúcar cruzando Bonanza hacia La Algaida (barrio) y justo al llegar girar hacia la izquierda por el Camino de las marimas (google maps). Rodear pegado al río hasta Venta la Compuerta del Albur. A partir de ahí, seguir hasta los Pinares de la Algaida o seguir por el río hasta la costa de Trebujena. Recomiendo coche, especialmente en verano, si bien se puede hacer andando. Si ha llovido es fácil quedarse atrapado en el barro.
