Description
The area around Errwood Reservoir is a good site for many upland woodland species such as Gobemouche noir, Rougequeue à front blanc, Pipit des arbres and Gobemouche gris and the best time to visit is in spring when the birds are in song. Pouillot siffleur is also present some years. Chevalier guignette, Petit Gravelot and Canard mandarin can be found around the southern end of the reservoir itself and Lagopède d'Écosse and Courlis cendré are common on the surrounding moors. Cincle plongeur and Bergeronnette des ruisseaux inhabit the stream to the south of the reservoir and several species of raptor can often be seen in flight over the valley.

There is a fairly large car park in the south west corner of Errwood Reservior and from there you can take the paths and road to the south through the woods and along the riversdie path.
