Gosforth Park Nature Reserve includes a lake, reedbed, and woodland habit, with a wide mix of birds. It is also a good site for mammals, including Roe Deer, Otter, Fox, and Badger.

Access best by bike, from the cycle path alongside the A189 road; limited car parking also available. Nearest bus stop 700 m south, at entrance to Gosforth Business Park. Non-members can buy day permits in advance from the Natural History Society of Northumbria (link below) - show your permit at the entrance, between 09.00-16.00; members (who benefit from longer opening hours) should carry their membership card. There are four hides overlooking the lake, and one at the feeding station.
