Description
Waders, ducks and gulls in large numbers feed on the estuary at low tide, but then as the tide rises fly across the path to the lagoon, so there are extended periods of bird watching. Depending on the time of year, you'll see are a wide range of scottish waders - Curlews, Godwits, Redshanks, Greenshanks, Plovers as well as numerous duck and gull species.

Site is accessed from a small carpark at the end of a small single track road coming of the A904. Coming from the east (i.e. from Edinburgh or Boness) it is the last turning before the round about to the Ineos chemical terminal. Click on the P in the map for directions. Note, the lagoon is not part of the nearby Kinniel Nature Reserve a few miles away and has separate access.
