Description
Marshside is a wetland site located north of Southport town centre. In the summer, you can spot nesting birds like Avocette élégante and Vanneau huppé, while in winter you can see groups of Canard siffleur, Sarcelle d'hiver, and Oie à bec court. Too many bird varieties to name here (see the birdlist below) but Marshside offers the chance to see local and migratory birds and offers them a chance for feeding and nesting. The reserve is right next to the beach so there a two main areas to watch birds. It's also five minutes drive from the town for either sit in or picinic style, food and drink.
