Description
Thornham Old Harbour is relatively quiet and unspoilt. It forms part of the creeks that branch off of the River Hun and consists of mudflats and tidal marsh. The disused wooden quays and lack of human footfall can allow visitors to get reasonably close to the birds. The Norfolk Coastal Path also passes through here, with the Holme reserve being about 30 mins walk west. The site is good for waders, gulls and a number of ducks.

Thornham Old Harbour is located just north of Thornham village. Car parking is available at the old harbour, although Staithe Lane itself is subject to tidal flooding, rendering the area inaccessible at high tide (see a link to the tide table below). Press a P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The #36 Coastliner bus stops in Thornham village which is about 1/2 mile walk.
