Description
Valley of Rocks is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and runs parallel to the coast, it has some extraordinary rock formations and most of the area has 'free access'. It has a free roaming population of Feral Goats that have been here since the Domesday Book. During summer you can expect to see Rougequeue à front blanc, Traquet motteux, Hirondelle rustique and Hirondelle de fenêtre. Nearer the coast Faucon pèlerin, Mouette tridactyle, Fulmar boréal, Guillemot de Troïl, Pingouin torda and Fou de Bassan can be expected.

Just to the east are the twin seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, the A39 road mainly follows the coast from Porlock and Minehead (further to the East), eventually arriving at Lynton/Lynmouth, on arriving at the twin towns look for signs to Valley of Rocks and Lee Abbey. BE AWARE this road narrow at times becomes a TOLL ROAD (Fee Payable - SEE STAR ON MAP) near Lee Abbey. For those arriving from the West follow A39 from Barnstable.
