Description

Fairview-Riverside State Park is largely open oak and pine stands much of which is used for the campground. There are wooded areas near the riverside and around the Otis House on site. On the river side there is a boardwalk for river observations and another boardwalk nature trail through riverside wetlands. The nature trail can be good for Prothonotary Warbler during spring and summer breeding season. Swamp Sparrow and White-throated Sparrow are common on the nature trail in winter. Osprey may be observed all year.

This site has a nice variety of habitats, excellent parking and is relatively accessible. While not as productive overall as some other nearby the area can attract a good range of species.
