Description
The Haeska birdwatching tower on the north shore of Matsalu Bay is one of the best bird observation towers in Europe. The coastal meadows and shallow bay are a popular spot among migratory birds and therefore a splendid spot for birdwatching. Many species have been recorded in the vicinity of the Haeska birdwatching tower and Finnish birdwatchers have also set a European record – 128 different bird species were seen from the Haeska tower in one day.

Access
The Haeska bird observation tower is located on the west coast of Estonia near Haeska village on Matsalu Bay. Press P on the map for directions. The birdwatching tower and recreation area are situated on a private land, but visiting the tower is allowed from sunrise to sunset. It is worthwhile to visit Haeska to see birds as early as the end of March and the bird-watching season lasts until the beginning of November.
