Description
Henc is the most important wetland in Kosovo. It was artificially created in the late sixties, aiming at the cultivation of fish. The wetland was created by the conflux of Magura and Vrella water flows, which are branches of Sitnica River. With the surface of 74 ha, biodiversity in the Henc wetland is considered quite rich compared to its size. It attracts many birds. Among the birds you can see in the area are Patka Pupčanica, Patka Žličarka, Glavata Patka, Patka Njorka, Vlastelica, Bjelobrada Čigra, Mali Vranac, Bukavac, Čapljica Voljak, Čaplja Danguba, Žuta Čaplja, Gak, Sjenica Mošnjarka, Velika Strnadica, Eja Livadarka, Eja Močvarica, Crnoprugasti Trstenjak and Veliki Trstenjak.
